Albon Skeleton Goes Up

The concrete and steel framework for the 200,000-square-ft Albon Engineering & Manufacturing plant takes shape at the Norman Business Park. Above, workers steady and brace concrete panels titled into place to form the walls of the plant’s administrative offices. Below, steel roof beams and pillars continue to be assembled for the production area. The $10 million plant, which will manufacture automotive connecting rods, is being built by Gail Armstrong Construction Co. It will cost another $20 million to equip. Albon officials say the plant employ about 200 skilled workers. It is expected to be completed and begin production by the second quarter of next year.
