Motor Sports Racing plans to relocate its operation offices from Colorado
Springs, Colo., to the corporate headquarters in Norman.
Several
management and staff members will be relocating to Oklahoma. In connection with
the transition, Bobby Hartslief, chief operating officer, who was based in
Colorado Springs, was "relieved of his duties with the company,"
Boundless said in a press release.
Shane Carson,
race event promoter and sprint car driver with more than 27 years of industry
experience, was named vice president of race operations.
Boundless,
founded in January 2004, operates as Dirt Motor Sports, a sanctioning body for
sprint, late-model and modified dirt track car racing.
The consolidation
of operations to the Norman headquarters is part of the strategy to streamline
operations and administrative functions, and better position the company to
effectively manage its growth, said Joe Dickey, chief administrative officer.
"We're
confident that the relocation of the operations office to Oklahoma will enhance
the company's level of communication and performance with our team owners,
drivers, promoters, track owners, sponsors and most importantly, our dedicated
fans," Dickey said. "We will strive to make this a seamless
transition that will positively affect every aspect of our business."
On Thursday,
Boundless closed up 35 cents, or 7.8 percent, at $4.85 in over-the-counter
bulletin board trading.
Boundless also has
completed the purchase of Volusia Speedway Park near Daytona Beach, Fla.
Volusia Speedway Park has seating for nearly 10,000 fans.
"Volusia
Speedway Park is an important acquisition for Dirt, continuing our commitment
to acquire selected racing facilities to complement our national World of
Outlaws touring series and our national and regional dirt racing sanctioning
bodies," said Brian Carter, chief financial officer. "Volusia
Speedway Park is recognized as the Southeast's premier dirt track
facility."
Several of
Volusia's events are scheduled to complement NASCAR races at the Daytona
Speedway.
Boundless owns
three other tracks - Rolling Wheels Raceway Park in Elbridge, N.Y.; Lernerville
Speedway in Sarver, Pa.; and Cayuga County Fair Speedway in Weedsport, N.Y.
"We have a
committed institutional investor base that supports Dirt's long-term business
strategy, as demonstrated by this additional $4 million funding," said
Paul A. Kruger, chairman and CEO. "This acquisition is a major step in our
operating plan to build revenue drivers by running events at Dirt-owned
facilities."
Dirt MotorSports
operates the World of Outlaws Sprint Series broadcast on the Outdoor Channel,
the World of Outlaws Stacker 2 Late Model Series broadcast on the Speed Channel
and the Dirt Modified Series.
