There’s Plenty of
Activity In Norman Business Park
By: The Norman Transcript
The concrete trucks are beating
a path to the Norman Business Park along SH 9 on Norman’s southeast side.
Albon Engineering and
Manufacturing has begun construction of its plant. When it opens next year, the
British concern will be one of the larger tenants in the park owned by the
Norman Economic Development Coalition.
Office Max, formerly Boise
Cascade, recently began work on a 10,400 square foot addition. The company
employs 230 and plans to add another 140 to 160 sales representatives.
Immuno Mycologics Inc., a
medical testing company, also has started construction in the business park.
All told, the three projects
will add bout 350 jobs to the Norman economy. The park is about half occupied
and ready for other tenants.
The NEDC was formed out of a
need for industrial recruitment and to be able to offer developed sites, ready
for building, for companies ready relocate or expand here. Some members of the
NEDC partnership now are wanting the organization to promote retail recruitment
throughout in order to boost the city’s sales tax returns. There’s no reason to
believe the NEDC won’t be successful in that arena, too.
