Norman High Students Win Shop in Norman Contest
By: The Transcript Staff
Two Norman High School seniors have
received first prize for a marketing campaign they designed for the Norman
Chamber of Commerce Shop in Norman program.
Colin Barnett and Devon Harr were presented $500 for their
work during a Monday meeting of the chamber’s Board of Directors.
Barnett and Harr created graphics
and slogan, “Your roads, your schools, your money,” for the annual tax holiday
sale scheduled for August.
Early last month, students at Norman High School and Moore
Norman Technology Center were challenged to devise a campaign to emphasize the
importance of shopping in Norman. The contest was conducted by the chamber
Retail Trade and Business and Education Committees. Work submitted by 10
student groups was judged by a panel of chamber members.
The shop in Norman campaign is sponsored by Sooner Mall,
Campus Corner Market, Republic Bank & Trust, The Norman Transcript, the
City of Norman and First America Bank.
