The Cleveland County
Workforce Investment Board Youth Council is conducting its third annual holiday
project to provide food and clothing to needy youth and families.
The Youth Council is asking
individuals and companies to donate items such as money, hygiene products,
clothing and non-perishable food.
Donations are tax-deductible.
The program has grown
significantly over the past years providing 135 youth and families with gifts
in 2003 compared to 95 in 2002. The Council has set a goal of 200 for 2004.
The Youth Council is
responsible for coordinating youth activities, recommending youth service
providers and maintaining compliance with the 10 program elements implemented
in the Workforce Investment Act.
The City of Norman has many
service organizations to assist the needy during the holidays. The Workforce
Investment Board asks those who are fortunate to remember those in need.
For more information or to
donate items please contact Maureen Hammond at 405.573.1900 or nedc@nedcok.com.
