A SCIENTIFIC DREAM TEAM:  No science fiction here. Bioengineering and medicine are partnering in projects that address real life problems and offer boundless opportunities for the future.

WALKING TALL: Vicente Rosas never lost hope when doctors told him he wouldn't regain use of his legs.  This remarkable chemical engineering senior is profiled in the most recent issue of the College of Engineering 's evolve magazine.

INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS PROGRAM RANKS IN TOP 25:  The International Business Program in the University of Oklahoma's Michael F. Price College of Business recently was ranked by U.S. News and World Report in the Top 25 of such programs in the nation.

COOL TECHNOLOGY: OU students create software to aid police communications.  

THE SINGING SULLIVANS:  An incredibly talented Oklahoma family with OU ties has entertained Oklahomans and the rest of the nation for years.  

FINISHING TOUCHES:  Classes started this week at Gaylord Hall, the new home of OU's Gaylord College of Journalism and Mass Communication. Dust is still flying within the building as construction continues, but none of that has leveled enthusiasm within the college.  

IMPROVING EFFICIENCY: One Oklahoma City warehouse is in the process of implementing changes that will improve its operations efficiency by nearly 90 percent, thanks in part to the efforts of two OU industrial engineering students.  

HITACHI CHIPS IN: A generous donation from Hitachi makes a huge difference for OU's biological sensor project.  

WEATHER CENTER CONSTRUCTION ON TRACK:  The National Weather Center will open its doors in 2005.

ALUMNI NEWS

BOOMER BASH: The Alumni Association's pre-game celebrations, sponsored by ConocoPhillips, are a great way for alumni and friends to share the Sooner spirit before heading to kick-off at the Gaylord Family Oklahoma Memorial Stadium.  

PLAN AHEAD FOR DAD'S WEEKEND:  On Oct. 1, dads and OU students attending the U-Sing Competition will also enjoy live performances of Oklahoma's own Grammy and CMA award-winner Leon Russell and Ben Folds, an irreverent, gifted musician described as "Elton John for the college-rock set."

2004-05 FOOTBALL ROAD TRIPS:  Hop on the bus!  The Alumni Association is planning two road trips to away games on deluxe luxury motor-coaches.  Places are sold on a first-come, first-served basis.
